How a Simple Idea Became a Promise of Quality
Every new food concept begins with a question.
Ours was simple.
"Could we create a comforting, everyday meal that was quick to serve, affordable and genuinely satisfying|"?
Rice seemed like the perfect foundation. It is familiar, versatile and loved by almost everyone. The vision was to build a bowl that people could enjoy as easily as they would enjoy one of our sandwiches, without compromising on flavour or quality.
As we explored different possibilities, we quickly realised something important.
The easiest solution wasn't the right solution.
There were ready-made products available that could have made the entire process faster and simpler. They promised convenience, consistency and minimal preparation. On paper, everything looked perfect.
But once we tasted them, we immediately knew they didn't belong in our kitchen.
The flavours felt flat. The textures lacked character. Most importantly, they didn't reflect what Chubbies stands for.
At that moment, the direction of Rice & Nice changed completely.
Instead of looking for shortcuts, we decided to create our own recipes.
Every chicken meatball, every beef recipe and every vegetarian option would be prepared with the same philosophy that had guided Chubbies from the very beginning: honest ingredients, handmade preparation and food we would proudly serve to our own family.
Rather than creating dozens of different recipes, we focused on building a strong foundation.
A carefully developed chicken recipe became the base for multiple bowls, each transformed through different handmade sauces and flavour combinations. The same philosophy was applied to our beef recipes and future creations, allowing every bowl to have its own personality while maintaining consistency and quality.
Rice & Nice was never meant to become just another rice bowl.
It became an extension of Chubbies.
Different products. The same standards.
Today, every bowl we serve represents the same commitment that defines every sandwich leaving our kitchen: thoughtful recipes, handmade preparation and food created with respect for the people who choose to eat with us.
Because convenience should never come before quality.
And great comfort food always begins with great ingredients.
Rice & Nice was never created to follow a trend. It was created to solve a simple challenge: How do you serve comforting, everyday food without compromising the standards you've built your name on? That question continues to guide every new bowl we create. Because quality isn't a recipe. It's a decision you make every single day.
